Dr. Pillarisetti has been conducting research in the areas of vascular biology, atherosclerosis and metabolic diseases for over 15 years. Before joining Reddy US Therapeutics, Dr. Pillarisetti had an appointment to the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In addition, he was senior scientist in the Translational Research group in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Long Island Jewish Health System in Manhasset, New York, where he set up a peptide/small molecule discovery program in the areas of therapeutic angiogenesis and cancer (currently being developed by Angion Biomedica). Prior to his appointments at the Long Island Jewish Health System, he was a member of the faculty of Columbia University in the Department of Medicine. In his career in academia, Dr. Pillarisetti was awarded grants from the American Heart Association, Long Island Jewish Health System, and the private sector. He was an investigator of the American Heart Association from 1996-99. He is the author of over 40 research papers and review articles and an inventor on 12 issued patents. Dr. Pillarisetti received his MS and Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Hyderabad, India. Dr. Pillarisetti is a current member of the American Diabetes association and a fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA).
